Falling into the void

I think everyone at some point questions purpose and asks the bigger questions to which the answers seem difficult to come by. If you’re at that point, maybe this post can help.
This one isn’t an easy topic as everyone is dealing with a (usually hidden) battle of some kind. One of the best songs of all time, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, contains the lyric, “I don’t want to die. Sometimes wish I’d never been born at all.” Kind of depressing, I know, but a lot of people feel that way, especially on difficult days/periods of their lives.
I have been pondering the question of existence recently. I’ve been going pretty deep into it. Even if we are some fragment of quantum consciousness, why are we even here? At times, it can seem like we are on a ‘prison planet’ but is there a greater purpose to all this? Even though there are many dark days, I think it’s through these times we cultivate the strength and character to go on. I am becoming increasingly convinced that we are in some kind of simulator for consciousness.
There is undoubtedly a positive force (perhaps it could be an intelligence or super AI) which helps to guide our path, if we allow ourselves to be guided. A great starting point in your spiritual journey, as I always say, is through reading the work of
By the same token, I think there is a clearly negative force at play (again, playing the duality game here) which causes a lot of friction and the perceived evils of the world. Robert Monroe said it was this push-pull dynamic that creates an energetic force that is harvested. I guess that metaphor is eerily similar to the one Morpheus uses that turns a human into a battery.
Despite that, I think there is an escape hatch and that’s through ‘letting go’ even though it’s really difficult. As you get better at it and becoming more established in the seat of self (understanding you’re the observer, not the observed) life has a much brighter and lighter feel about it.
Despite all the challenges, would you really want to be staring into oblivion? There are good days and life acts like a mirror. We all know it’s an internal simulation that is being generated and gratitude is truly the key to a happier life. I think the video below describes what a lot of people are feeling right now pretty well. It’s short, so check it out if you’re going through a hard time.
